MY TOP 10 FABRICS RIGHT NOW

LET’S TALK TEXTILES

Fabrics can make or break a room. Here are 10 of my favourite textiles right now…

1. SUSAN DELISS Grenadine Reversible Weave in Apple Green

This weave by Susan Deliss looks and feels so decadent - it’s got a texture to it so it has real depth. It is also reversable, with the reverse more green if you prefer that look! It is pricier than some fabrics but for a blind or cushions, I think it is perfect. I love it with Edward Bulmers ‘Mason Pink’ paint and Alice Palmer lampshades.

2. ANDREW MARTIN

Las Salinas 4

This fabric reminds me of Argentina, hot evenings and horses...and I love it. It is pretty thick so would be perfect for upholstering an armchair, ottoman or hefty downstairs curtains. Pair with soft green walls and antique oak furniture.

3. LINWOOD

‘Ashfield’ in Harbour Blue

I love the simplicity of this pattern. The texture in the blue colour gives it almost a vintage feel and I love the small scale repeat. I have used this for our dining room curtains paired with Edward Bulmers tobacco coloured paint ‘Trumpington’. It is not available to buy direct so purchase it through your interior designer.

4. ALISON GEE

‘Nitesh‘ in warm red and grey blue

I have used this fabric for my children’s curtains and I love that it's at one elegant AND fun. It comes in lots of different colour ways too. I love this colour way paired with light blue walls and red and ochre accessories. Simultaneously fun and classic. Perfect for blinds, curtains or even a chair.

5. FERMOIE

Wicker N-092

If you ever find yourself on Pimlico Road, do pop into Fermoie - the store is so beautiful. They do a range of fabrics in muted tones, including a range in this lovely golden wheat colour. This would work perfectly for curtains but just as well on a smaller scale item like a lamp. Pair with pale green, cream or soft blue walls.

6. IAN MANKIN

Ticking stripe 1 in Crimson

Everyone loves a good ticking stripe, and Ian Mankin is the King of stripes! I love this shade but it comes in so many. It looks super smart on armchairs and ottomans or for blinds, paired with a fun trim.

7. LINWOOD Lana Ruby

This is a wool mix fabric so just perfect for curtains in older or colder homes, acting like a blanket for the window! It comes in lots of colours, I especially love this Ruby colour for its depth and richness. Pair with lighter putty pink walls and dark green furnishings.

8. GP&J BAKER

Poppy Paisley in Indigo

This is a viscose/linen mix so has a lovely rustic look to it. Paired with the block print inspired pattern, this fabric is perfect for curtains or a sofa. I think it could work in any room of the house but I particularly like the idea of it for a hallway curtain or cosy sitting room, paired with stone coloured walls.

9. JESSICA OSBORNE

Chequer in Mulberry

We are using this fabric for our kitchen blinds and I can’t wait to see them finished. I love a chequer pattern, and this one really sings. It comes in different colours but I especially love this mulberry tone. Pair with greens/ochre/putty pink.

10. THE DESIGN EDIT

Lotus Midnight

I don’t love all florals...but I sure love this one. Subtle, delicate but it still manages to pack a punch. I love this fabric paired with Sulking Room pink paint (Farrow&Ball) and stone coloured accents. And the best bet? This fabric is super reasonable too!
